Our R & D-activities at our headquarters in Viersen are essential in forming the basis of our competitiveness as a specialist in drive technology. Our qualified staff members face up to every technical challenge. Groschopp AG keeps an R & D-department with highly qualified staff members in order either to generate innovative products or to cater for customer-tailored drive requests. These flexible and interdisciplinary work-teams comprise specialists from the R & D-department, members of the design- and production-departments, members of the product management and sales department. The objectives of these teams are to recognize and develop new technologies, and to utilize them in the form of innovations. This applies for every new product developments as well as for customer-tailored solutions. |

These specialists make use of the most modern Software tools and analyzing methods for an exact simulation, planning and development. Initially, the electrical drive-layout is calculalated, mechanical stress, calculation of temperature rise and flux-distribution by means of Finite – elements (FEM and FMEA) - programmes are simulated, and the motor design via CAD is executed in 2D- and 3D-systems. That way, even customer-tailored problems can be worked out and solved in the shortest time. These specialists are supported by a prototype manufacturing department, specifically established for that reason, and the laboratory. They enable a "Rapid Prototyping" for any new designs as well as extensive tests and long-time-operational checks of the drive system during the development phase. In order to retain the leadership in technology, it is essential for a medium-sized enterprise to cooperate in close collaboration with Universities, Technical Institutes and industrial partners.
